President's Message From Bonnie Vande Velde
|
|
Welcome to month 2 of 2022! We have much to celebrate
in February, the second day of February this year has a 100-year
recurrence. The date will be 2/2/22. If you are celebrating
something other than Groundhog Day, then you should feel very special!
Aside from the interesting data, February is a month filled
with all kinds of special days and recognitions. Most notable is
Valentine’s Day. If you have been struck by cupid’s arrow and found the
love of your life consider yourself very blessed. Treasure that
relationship and celebrate it. For some who haven’t found this
relationship yet or have had it and for many possible reasons it is gone from
their lives. This can be a very hard time of year for some and an absolutely
wonderful time for others. So no matter what your circumstance is, spread
joy and love to all.
2022 is not a Leap Year. We have a short month (28 days) and the
whole concept of a leap day is quite fascinating when you look at the science
behind it. As a point of interest here is what Leap Year does for us
(courtesy of thespruce.com):
How Leap Day Balances Our Calendar
Every four years we have a Leap Year, which means a day
is added to the end of February (the shortest month) called Leap Day. The extra
day is a corrective measure that synchronizes the calendar with the earth's
almost year-long orbit around the sun. Without Leap Day, a few hours would
cumulatively disappear every year, eventually throwing off our calendar and
seasons.
Let’s not wait for a Leap Day to occur, make every day a
Leap Day! You can leap out of bed, leap into your daily routine, Leap
into a new marketing campaign, leap into a new customer campaign, and so much
more! Leap into your business and shake things up, get employees fired up
and excited about their opportunities to grow under your leadership. Leap
NOW! The time is right!
