Jeanne Maron
The Gifted Cork

Jeanne Maron has been a retailer since she was 12. She went into the family business immediately following college, and learned the business as owner, salesperson, buyer, advertiser, customer service, and janitor. She did that for 23 years, then followed her passion to event planning and nonprofit leadership. She worked as the Jacksonville Director for American Cancer Society, event planner for JEA, then after being laid off in October 2008, she decided to start a new venture in retail…a wine shop in downtown St. Augustine.

The Gifted Cork has been in business 15 years, with a stock of over 500 different wines, cheeses, and fun/wine-related gifts. She pours wine everyday with a monthly wine theme and makes gourmet baskets and custom charcuterie boards. She hosts in-house and outside tastings, as well as leads wine tours around the country.
